Boundary Forest Watershed Stewardship Society will be sponsoring Geocaching in the Boundary watershed.
WHAT IS GEOCACHING?
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
HOW DO YOU PLAY?
We will publish a list of geocaches. You choose any geocache from the list and enter the coordinates of the geocache into your GPS Device. Then you use your GPS device to assist you in finding the hidden geocache. Then you share your geocaching stories and photos with us.
If you take something from the geocache (or “cache”), you leave something of equal or greater value.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PLAY?
A GPS device or a GPS-enabled mobile phone so that you can navigate to the cache.
WHAT IS IN THE CACHE?
Our Forest Caches are special locations people can visit to learn about a unique feature of the forest and watershed. Forest Caches will include a set of educational notes along with coordinates. Visitors to Forest Caches can see how our watershed functions, how it is structured, and what it is made up of.
