Eco Expo & presentations temporarily postponed due to coronavirus situation
April 4, 2020
Boundary Eco Expo
The presentations and Expo have been indefinitely postponed while we wait out the coronavirus situation. Take care everyone!
PRESENTATIONS
The Harrop-Procter Community Forest will be making a presentation about their cooperative on April 4. Harrop Procter manages 11,300 hectares of Crown Land and runs a small sawmill. They practice ecosystem-based forestry and sell lumber products directly from their mill in Harrop. Their mandate is to practice socially and environmentally progressive forestry that protects local watersheds while creating sustainable jobs in their community.
There will also be a presentation by BFWSS about our watershed project, another one about ecosystems, and activities for kids. We might also screen some short films, such as Intelligent Trees (Suzanne Simard), and the Grand Forks Flood documentary series – other ideas are welcome too. There will also be a BFWSS membership and info table.
EXPO DISPLAYS & TABLES FOR GROUPS
The Expo tables are for environmental, land, stewardship, watershed, outdoors, and wildlife groups.
The Expo will probably be about 4 hours either in the afternoon or morning.
Detailed information will be available the week of March 9. To book a table please email [email protected]
