Everyone talks about cutting fossil fuels. But there’s another massive source of climate pollution hiding in plain sight: industrial logging.
In Canada, logging releases more greenhouse gases than the oil sands – yet these emissions don’t even count in our official totals. When we clearcut a primary forest, we lose more than just trees. We lose:
